Now Offering: Free Portrait Service!

Many of our clients have had difficulty obtaining patient photos with a level of quality necessary for marketing purposes. At Renstrom we understand the need for great photos in your marketing materials so we have set up a professional portrait studio in the lab! When your esthetic cases are completed, all you need to do is call us and we'll set up a portrait appointment so the patient can have their hair, makeup, and clothing looking just right for the portrait! The patient gets a professional portrait, and you get a great marketing photo and, best of all, it's free!

Most dentists would agree that a great way to communicate the value of a proposed treatment plan is to show photos of similar cases you have completed. If this is true, why don’t more dentists have photos of their work available for this purpose? Many of you have shared with me your concerns about using valuable chair time for portraits or that the portraits taken in the dental office might not meet the standard of quality for case presentation or marketing.

At Renstrom Dental Studio, we have heard your concerns and we have a solution. We have set up a portrait studio at the lab so that we can take professional quality portraits of your patients after the completion of their esthetic dental treatment. There are several advantages for the treating dentist:

·      First, you don’t have to commit chair-time or space in your office for taking the photos.

·      Second, by scheduling the portrait at a time other than the insertion appointment, the patient’s mouth has time to recover from the procedure and the patient has the opportunity to make themselves presentable, just as they would for a regular portrait.

·      Third, our professional equipment and editing experience will result in a quality portrait that will reflect your commitment to quality dentistry.

·      Fourth, you will receive a jpeg file which you can use as you wish for case presentation, print advertising or internet marketing. Many dentists are able to stimulate patient interest in cosmetic dentistry by displaying framed photos of their satisfied patients on their office walls.

Because we believe so strongly in the value of quality images to promote acceptance of esthetic dental treatment, Renstrom will provide this portrait service after completion of our esthetic cases at no charge to you or your patient. That’s right, the digital file of the portrait is FREE to you and we will also provide a digital copy of the file for the patient’s use. All you need to do is call us after you complete your esthetic case and we’ll take care of the rest. You should make your patients aware that they will need to sign both a photography release and a medical (HIPAA) authorization to have their photographs taken at our offices. This will protect us and you from any legal action arising from the use of the photos. Sample copies of the photo release and the HIPAA authorization are attached so that you can acquaint your patients with the forms. You may find it helpful to offer your patients some sort of incentive (if their free photo file isn’t enough) to get them to agree to have their photographs taken. If you use the patient photos, you must make sure that you do not use the patient’s name in conjunction with the photo.

If you have any questions about the details of this offer, please call the lab at 651-407-0491.

*From Minnesota to Tennessee!* *We work across the country! *

This fall I was able to attend the U of M Student Vendor Fair.  It is always fun to visit with the students, and you can just tell how excited they are to get out into the dental industry. One thing that caught my attention, as I heard it from multiple students, was how they were disappointed they wouldn't be able to send to us, since they will be practicing out of state! I thought that was a funny assumption, as we work with doctors all over, including throughout the state of MN, WI, ND, IA, and as far as NY and TN!  But after I thought about that, it is understandable to assume you might only work with a lab that is local to you. It does give you the ability to run over and discuss a case if you'd like, get to know the technicians you are working with, and gives you the privileged of seeing our wonderful drivers on a daily basis! We love working with our in town doctors, but we are able to build that trustworthy relationship with offices out of town too.  When looking for a lab, make sure you are looking for one who is providing the quality of products and services you are expecting, and is willing to work on building that relationship with you, whether that is down the road, or across the country.

This September I was visiting TN for a friend's wedding, so my husband and I were able to stop by and see 2 great offices we work with in Knoxville TN. They both had started sending to Crocus Dental (before we merged), well over 10 years ago.  We work them on a daily basis, and have a great relationship with them through casework, phone calls and written messages. It was such a treat to be able to visit them and get to tour their office!  Both offices are full of such wonderful people, it really makes you appreciate those you work with and the pleasant relationships they provide.  Plus, we got to see a bit of Knoxville - and what a fun town it is to visit!

Then this October, Greg & Jeff were able to go out to New York and visit a few offices. Dr. Rosenstein is a doctor that we get to talk to multiple times a day, and are very involved with his daily casework. We had the pleasure of having Dr Rosenstein out to visit us, the Spring of 2014! (you can read that article here ) This time Greg & Jeff got to tour his office, and see what it's like in his neck of the woods!

Whether you are working with a lab that is near to you, or a distance away, the important thing is to make sure you have built a relationship with the technicians working on your cases.  They are there to provide the best work possible, to make sure your patients leave your office excited about their new smile.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us, whether that be via phone, or email, and we will make sure to answer whatever it is, to make sure all your specifications are being met, and exceeded!

Star of the North 2015

Another great show has come and gone! We would like to thank all those who stopped by to visit us at the booth! It is always great to meet new people and hear about how things are going out in the dental industry. This year seemed to be a great turnout, and we appreciate everyone who stopped by and said hi! The Star of the North recognized us this year with a badge to add to our name tags - 40 year exhibitor! That was a great honor to be recognized in that way, and it is hard to believe Renstrom has attended the show for so many years. Thank you to all who make the show what it is, and keep us wanting to attend year after year!

Thursday was a great night of socializing with doctors, and we were able to talk to doctors we currently work with, and hear how things are going with them. Rick, Randi, and Rob attended, and got to discuss our new service - hand piece repairs!

Friday was a busy day of classes, and a lot of traffic on the exhibit floor. We got to see everyone from students, doctors, hygienists & assistants, and even some past interns of Renstrom Dental! There was a lot of interest in Removables, and again, hand piece repairs seemed to be the hot topic. Rick and Rob opened the show with Greg, and Randi attended in the afternoon. This was Greg's first Star of the North show - and he got to meet so many people, so thank you for stopping by!

Saturday was the quietest day in the exhibit hall, but still a great day of meeting some new people. Dr. Jeff Benson was able to attend with Greg, and it gave him a chance to visit with some past, and current, students of his. Dr Benson teaches 3rd year students at the U of M, so it is a great way for him to connect in a different atmosphere.

As many of you know, we had a drawing this year! We just drew the lucky winners and here they are:

Grand Prize: 2 night stay to Sugar Lake Lodge: Dr Aaron Johnson of Johnson Dental in Northfield!

3 Hand Piece Repair Winners ($185 value!)
Dr. Steve Hagerman of Hagerman Dental Care
Shelly Hoeykens of Metropolitan Pediatric Dental Associates
Carrie Ohnstad of Northview Dental

The winners will be emailed, and prizes will be delivered to them.

Thank you to all those who entered our drawing, stopped  and talked, or even just stopped to grab candy or a pen! We would also like to thank all those who are 'behind the scenes' setting up, and putting all the effort in year round to make sure this show is a success! We received many compliments on how great the overall show was, and we appreciated all the work that is put into it!
